Band / Bands: Virgil & The Accelerators
Other Info: Virgil McMahon - a very rare talent, started playing his fathers Mandolin at the tender age of four and by his early teens, he was absorbing the sounds of Hendrix, Billing Gibbons, Bonamassa and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Joining his fathers band ‘The Accelerators’, it soon became apparent that Virgil’s destiny was soon to change and it wasn’t long before the band was reborn, “Virgil & The Accelerators”. Two years later in 2008, when 14 year old brother Gabriel McMahon stepped into the breach, he quickly developed into a powerhouse drummer and the seed was sown for the growth of a formidable band. With the addition of Jack Alexander Timmis on bass in 2010, the final chapter was written and the dynamics, raw energy and emotionally charged power of this creative young combination exploded onto the music scene!

Touring relentlessly across Europe in their own right and along side the likes of Michael Schenker, Uriah Heep, Tracer and Wilko Johnson has ensured a loyal and growing fan base and with a 20 day tour of the UK about to start, home grown fans are in for a real treat!
Don't miss out on seeing Virgil & The Accelerators plus support, Delirium, at The Greystones on Thursday 28 May!

The venue is located on Greystones Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire S11 7BS

Band / Bands: Kano w/ Elijah & Skilliam, Mez & Giob
Other Info: 0114 241 3040
Until a few weeks ago, we'd barely heard a feature verse from Kano in years, and in his absence the words "grime revival" have become two of the most used in the English language, as tracks from Skepta, The Square, Dizzee, Stormzy, Jammz and more continue to explode on a weekly basis. So it's poetically apt that one of the original scene's most potent and prolific MCs is now back in the 2015 game, and coming to Plug. Expect Kano to blaze through his back catalogue of cult classics and new material for a very rare show in The Steel City.

Having played in indie band Keith, written for The 2 Bears, sung for George FitzGerald and been a producer for the likes of Charlie Boyer and The Voyeurs and The Bohicas, Oli is now bringing his wide array of talents to bear on his own solo project.
After Keith, my intention was to start something fresh and get a new project going, explains Oli. My intention was always to become a producer as well as an artist in my own right, and its worked out really well for me.

Boxed In is that project, and it brings together Olis two greatest musical loves: Krautrock and house music. The album has a bit of both of those two things combined, he says, But the principle focus is always the songs. Im a slave to the songs and I try to incorporate my love of specific genres of music into that.

Boxed Ins Foot of the Hill video is now premiering on The Line of Best Fit. Take a look here...

Later this year Laurence will be representing the UK in the Brussels European Blues Challenge................so best watch this space!

Well before the release of his debut album in 2012 "Thunder In The Sky", a buzz rapidly built around Laurence and he soon began making a big name for himself................BBC Radio 2 was sufficiently impressed to state that "Laurence is like a young Robin Trower, exciting and full of energy"

The young gunslinger of the blues was influenced by the likes of Walter Trout, Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher and Albert Collins. At only 23, he has clocked up some serious road miles touring throughout the U.K/Europe and in 2013, Walter Trout invited Laurence and his band to play as support on their U.K tour and said "Laurence is a cross between Eric Clapton & Buddy Guy, he is a genius"

7.30pm - 10.30pm

Leeds CUD are dusting off their flight cases and sunglasses for another road trip.
The ASQUARIUS tour this September will see the band play their astrologically challenged chart bothering A&M album IN FULL, along with a set of "greatest hits", live favourites and other assorted delights.

Emerging from the same art/design cauldron that produced fellow Leeds legends Soft Cell, Scritti Politti, and The Mekons, CUD were the pre-Britpop answer to doleful shoegazing bands fun-loving, light-hearted, romantic and downright catchy.

Alternatively loved or loathed like a yeast extract, CUD are indie rock for the unpretentious pleasure seeker, boasting as they do the rich deep-lunged voice of Carl Puttnam, edgy guitars of Mike Dunphy and tight, funky rhythm section of William Potter, bass and Gogs Byrn, drums.

CUD were initially lauded for their quirky Peel session cover of You Sexy Thing in 1987. They soon built up a huge live following and buffed up their repertoire with a string of unstraight pop beauties, best exemplified by the 1990 album Leggy Mambo. This led to a major-label deal with A&M in 1991, front-page NME coverage, massive sell out gigs and proper Top 30 hits, Rich and Strange and Purple Love Balloon.

Misunderstood by record companies and press, CUD packed away their guitars and sticks in 1995 but, boostered by a greatest hits anthology (Rich and Strange) in 2006, they agreed to tread the boards again and found an army of Space CUDets still eager to sing along, dance like fruitcakes and invade their stage.

CUD are now even better than they were in 1992.
