Hailing from the wilderness of Caithness in Scotland, Neon Waltz are a six piece psychedelic indie rock band. Within a relatively short space of time they have become fine purveyors of melodic, sun-drenched, sonic soundscapes. Music for all seasons.

Neon Waltz’s songs feel instantly memorable and catchy, and the addition of an electric organ gives their tunes slightly Doors-y undertones. They manage to effortlessly maintain a lovely balance between lively pop and wistfulness, with slow tempo tracks breaking out into feverish jams.

They were recently named as NME’s Buzz Band of the Week, when the mag proclaimed them as, ‘The most promising British band we’ve heard this year’. High praise indeed.

Anyone in the know will be aware of Chip’s first Fire In The Booth slot for Charlie Sloth’s hip hop show on 1Xtra in 2012. He demonstrated his skills as a quick thinking MC who could freestyle perfectly.
Fast forward to January 2015.... Chip returns to totally kill it in his second Fire In The Booth and properly call out his one-time collaborator Tinie Tempah.
An extended rant about how he’d been totally disrespected by Tinie in his own 2014 slot on Fire In The Booth has made Chip the talk of the UK hip hop scene since. Who’s correct? Who’s better? Only one way to find out, get yourselves down to check out his incredible skills live and direct at Plug.

Judge Jules first took to the decks in 1987, launching a career that has notched up millions of miles, a legacy of deck spinning and countless gigs in far flung destinations, as well as the odd dirty warehouse thrown in for good measure.

His sets are the epitome of what DJing is about – passion and crowd connection, amazing tunes and a set of hands capable of the most nimble mixing.

And if you need any more persuading that you should hot foot it down to Plug for this party, Judge Jules has also received a plethora of awards including Best DJ (Muzik Awards), No.1 DJ (Mixmag Readers’ Poll) and Best International DJ (Dancestar Awards). Blimey.

Joining Jules will be Futuristic Polar Bears. This collective have worked their furry little paws off to achieve the seemingly unachievable.

They’ve left no corner of the globe untouched and have used their indisputable energy to destroy dancefloors and soundsystems across the world, in locations including Russia, Thailand, Singapore and South Korea and alongside the likes of Martin Garrix, Danny Howard and EDX.

This spring, Lucy Rose is set to play her first UK headline tour in 18 months. The acclaimed singer will take her five piece band out for an intimate tour throughout March to play some new material from her second album, due later in the year.

Lucy Rose worked on the follow up to her 2012 debut 'Like I Used To' throughout 2013, stepping out of the studio for rare live shows including a support slot for Neil Young in Hyde Park and playing the second stage at Glastonbury Festival.

The Independent review of her Glastonbury show singled her out as one of the festival's rising stars, labelling her "the stand out female vocalist of the weekend." Her forthcoming album is likely to confirm her upward trajectory.

Say hello to pop’s new cheerleader.

You may know her as the lady who penned ‘Fancy’ for Iggy Azalea and ‘I Love It’ for Icona Pop but Charli XCX is evolving into a genuinely distinctive artist, with the charisma to carry off her eclecticism.

Her music is a pastiche of 90s pop, equal parts girl power and pulsing RnB. With rhymes that are all street swagger and steamy gothic heartache, songs like ‘Break the Rules’, ‘Famous’ and ‘Need Your Love’ reflect the singer’s naturally candid and fiery demeanour, and her ability to flitter between teenage rebellion and destructive romances.

From first flexing her skills by spitting verses at warehouse raves to having one of the most eagerly anticipated albums of 2014, pop’s gothic princess looks set to stick around and we can’t wait to welcome her to Plug’s stage.

Plug opens its doors for the launch party of Revival, boasting a strap-line of classic club nights for the over 25's.

Live brings you the very best of classic house with an infusion of current anthems. Allister Whitehead will be gracing the decks alongside Ben Gath and Reece Bird who are both experienced in their own right. Earth plays soulful house, deep house, US house and garage along with some more classics from the late 80s onwards.

Both old and new house music will combine perfectly for the vibe, open mindedness, glamour and atmosphere of the 90s and 00s clubbing scene along with the sound, creativity, technology and design of current clubbing events.

Revival gets its inspiration from the uplifting vocal and piano tunes of the 90s through to the funky and US house of the late 90s and 2000s. All in all, you can expect a lot of uplifting, vocal and funky house with the 90s piano thrown in throughout the evening.

Band / Bands: Folk and Blues Roots Night
Other Info: Thorne Charity Events and Right Up Our Street present a Roots Night with a difference.

The evening will kick off with the Fantastic Mr Alistair J. Pearson (Music) at 6pm. Alistair writes his own songs, each with a touch of humour, His style of music and his attitude show us all that music isn't about being serious its about having fun and expressing whatever you feel or think, and Alistair thinks of some pretty strange things!

Up next will be a performance from Rob Dylan McGregor, a local musical enthusiast who will be performing his first 'official' set. Rob almost begged us at our last event to let him play a song between acts, reluctantly I said yes.... by the time he had finished I was wandering if I could re-arrange times so he could play again. I am personally looking forward to hearing him play Steve Earle's 'Copperhead Road'.

Now we get all alternative on you! Its time for Tribal Vibes to take over and all of you to get involved for a mass drumming circle, Tribal Vibes bring an assortment of Djembi drums and other percussion items and we all get to make a lot of noise, hopefully with plenty of rhythm.

Cocklebread will be on stage then, we don't know if Jim will bring a band of 3 or a band of 20, Cocklebread is a collective of musicians who play if they are free hence the variation in band size, lets hope the stage can fit them on!

Following Cocklebread, we have Crooked Weather, who will be playing at our Something to Smile About 2015 festival in June, this time round it will just be a 3 piece acoustic version of the band just to give you all a little taster :)

And to top the night off we will have the fantastic voice that is Our Jim Taplin, James Taplin has one of the most soulful voices I have ever heard and after his last performance for us (When he had a chest infection) where everyone was impressed, we look forward to him performing again and this time him being on top form!

Future Islands believe in true love, you can tell that because their songs speak through our lives. It’s as if their music has always been with us, soundtracking every great hope, dawning realization and broken promise. Every fond embrace, each leap of faith. Over the last eight years Baltimore’s most quixotic and emotionally involving trio have maintained an admirable level of skill and pace, never slowing down for the corners. It’s vocalist Samuel T. Herring, William Cashion (bass, guitars), and Gerrit Welmers (keyboards, programming, guitars) who find themselves responsible. Their sound is at once beguiling and irresistible. It’s one part melancholic, one part euphoric; full of animated basslines, robust drum machines and questing keyboards, all set off by Sam’s remarkably distinct, soaring vocal.

Band / Bands: Mosborough Music Festival Warm Up Gig ft. Dodgy, Marquis Drive, Regale & The Gorgeous Chans
Other Info: 0114 241 3040

DODGY...
Everyone’s life has been touched at some point by the music of Dodgy. They rose to prominence in the 1990’s Brit-pop era. This rock/pop trio will headline the show and boy are we please to have them. With five top 20 UK hits behind them get ready to shake your stuff to hits like, ‘Good Enough’, ‘Staying out for the summer’ and ‘If you’re thinking of me’. Welcome to Sheffield lads.

MARQUIS DRIVE...
Mosborough’s favourite sons, Marquis Drive are the first name we ask to play the festival every year and when you see them you’ll know why they keep getting asked back. This 90’s Brit-pop covers band deliver a set full of hits from the likes of The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Pulp, Oasis and James. These lads put on one hell of a performance and we are delighted to have these happy Midlands chappies along again. When the idea of a warm up festival gig came to us, we were straight on the blower to these lads as we know they will smash through a great set of Brit-pop hits with the high quality standards they set themselves.

REGALE...
Regale are a Walsall based 5 piece that were formed in 2012, we were very close to having them play at Mosborough music festival 2015. We’ve listened, liked, and heard great things about these lads so what better way of looking at their set with a view to MMF 2016 than having them play on this great bill. All hail-Regale.

THE GORGEOUS CHANS...
The Gorgeous Chans make the short trip up from Nottingham to Sheffield and boy are we glad to have them. This seven piece Indie-pop band formed in 2012 and enriched themselves further in 2014. Expect catchy tunes, dance along beats backed up by a bit of brass, gorgeous and lovely.

Disparate influences from the Old World to New York are brought together in the furnaces of Sheffield and Brooklyn, revealing a stylistic repertoire that injects the indigenous working man’s soul into the periphery of the bohemian metropolis.
Academically trained in traditional instrument playing and constantly experimenting with production techniques, the band systematically processes every imaginable acoustic influence.
Coming from an experimental post-punk and noise approach on their 2013 debut the EYE (Labelship, UK), Frogbelly and Symphony are now presenting their forthcoming full-length album.

Over the last decade, rapper, poet and journalist Akala (the name comes from a Buddhist term meaning ‘immovable’) has emerged from London’s hip hop underground and burst into the mainstream as one of the leaders of a new British artistic renaissance.

His first album, It’s Not a Rumour, was released in 2006 and gained much critical acclaim, culminating in him winning the 2006 MOBO Award for Best Hip Hop Artist. Since then, Akala has released three more albums and toured extensively throughout the UK and around the world.

He has developed a stellar live show with renowned drummer and award-winning music producer, Cassell ‘The Beatmaker’, headlining six UK tours and touring with the likes of Jay-Z, Nas and M.I.A.

Akala is the purveyor of a unique and socially conscious form of hip hop, packed with metaphors, beats, rock sounds and emotionally charged lyrics. Don't miss this.

Bracing pop from another of Liverpool’s new emerging guitar slingers, LIVES. On first listen it’s straight up guitar standards but as the melodies seep in you can’t help be bowled over. Yelped, semi-regional vocals; ringing, stop-start, new wave guitars; ridiculously catchy tunes! So, unlike so many other bands that treading the same path, one listen of ‘White Lies’ and the ‘woah oh oh oh’s‘ will be stuck in your head for hours.

Over to NME …

“Liverpool has been something of a breeding ground for promising new bands of late, and Lives are the newest arrivals at the party. Debut tracks ‘White Lies’ and ‘Short Memory’ (LISTEN HERE!) are a blast of adrenaline – big, fast-paced and packed with layer upon layer of instrumentation. Lives are doing their utmost to make sure you sit up and listen.”

The rEJEKT Music label was set up in October 2007 as a platform to release “our music our way” alongside tracks and remixes from people we've fallen in love with along the way. So far that musical journey has picked up artists like Argy (Cocoon), Brett Johnson (Visionquest), Gummihz (Mobilee), Marc Ashken (Leftroom), Mykel Haze (Hot Creations), Gamal Kabar (Dessous) and Ruthit (Underwater) as well as a host of up and coming artists like Nik Feral, Fabian Super and Mark Holmes.

Aside from the output on our own label The rEJEKTS have also had tracks released on Dirtybird, Ohm, Exun, Proposal, Peepshow and Correspondent.

This "rEJEKTS" thing is not only a vessel to produce and release music! It has always been two a pronged approach. With the music we make going hand in hand with the parties we throw. A kind of pincer movement on the dance floors of the world as it were! So as to represent not only the sound of the label but also the sound of the club we've invited some of our favourite artists along for this particular ride. These people have supplied seminal moments in the evolution of our sound and so who better else to help us celebrate? We present to you . . . . A line up with one of our favourite new artists alongside some of our favourite "Northern Bastards".

The Pop Group formed in Bristol in 1977 out of a sense of disenchantment with the increasing conservatism of punk and released their debut album, Y, in 1979. Their second album, For How Much Longer Do We Tolerate Mass Murder? arrived in 1980 before the band imploded in the same year. Reforming in 2010, the band have played festivals across the globe including Summer Sonic, Primavera and OFF, and recently completed a 7-date UK tour in support of the re-issued We Are Time and new archival compilation Cabinet of Curiosities in 2014.

Django Django is four men who, amongst other things, sing and play guitar, bass and drums. The Edinburgh art-pop foursome first garnered new band fizz back in 2009, then made us wait three whole years for their first album. But it was certainly worth the wait. Their first album taught us that they’re able to create perfectly crafted pop with a twist of modern psychedelia. No doubt this eclectic band will be pushing the boundaries with their new tunes. So hop on down to Plug and prepare to be mesmerised.

Having played in indie band Keith, written for The 2 Bears, sung for George FitzGerald and been a producer for the likes of Charlie Boyer and The Voyeurs and The Bohicas, Oli is now bringing his wide array of talents to bear on his own solo project.
“After Keith, my intention was to start something fresh and get a new project going,” explains Oli. “My intention was always to become a producer as well as an artist in my own right, and it’s worked out really well for me.”

Boxed In is that project, and it brings together Oli’s two greatest musical loves: Krautrock and house music. “The album has a bit of both of those two things combined,” he says, “But the principle focus is always the songs. I’m a slave to the songs and I try to incorporate my love of specific genres of music into that.”

Boxed In’s ‘Foot of the Hill’ video is now premiering on The Line of Best Fit. Take a look here...
