Housed in a former printworks in the centre of Rawtenstall near the steam railway station, Artisan Cafe Bar is a cafe by day and bar by night. It's added a bit of relaxed metro chic to the area, with the barnlike bare-brick interior providing a welcome addition to the roster of local pubs and restaurants. It's arranged over two open-plan floors with the kitchen and main seating area at ground level, a substantial mezzanine balcony with extra seating above and al fresco dining out front during the summer months.
The over-25s bar is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and has an extensive selection of 50-plus spirits, 20 wines (eight organic), Peroni on draught and a bespoke range of flavoured vodkas. During the day, the daytime menu has the likes of sandwiches, jackets and ciabattas as well as more substantial dishes like sausage and mash and traditional local favorite Irelands Black Pudding and Vegetarian V-Pud. The cafe is open from Wednesday through Sunday and serves traditional soft drinks and local temperance bar drinks. Vegetarian meals are always available. Artisan also has regular live music as well as Comedy Nights every second Thursday of the month. |
