Dreadzone
Saturday October 21 2017 to Saturday October 21 2017 | Start Time Approximately 19:30
Dreadzone Entering an impressive 3rd decade, Dreadzone, one of the most energetic, exciting and powerful live bands to emerge from the post-rave scene, released a brand new album “Dread Times” in February which stormed into the Top 40 UK Official Album Charts on release – the first time the band have charted in over 20 years. The album also made the Top 10 in the Indie and Dance Charts.

Their old skool dread sound comes bubbling to the surface on this album and it digs deeper into their dub and reggae roots whilst still keeping the beats fresh and the textures electronic. Conscious lyrics, social ills, matters of the heart and mind merge with 21st century dubwise flavours. The album is an eclectic rolling journey that recalls elements from an illustrious 23 year history while always looking ahead to the next phase. ‘Dread Times’ is the band’s 8th studio album and the 3rd release on their own Dubwiser label.

Since their inception in 1993 Dreadzone have steadily been releasing underground storms of albums, progressively bettering, refining and perfecting their own unique and inimitable take on dub – mixed as it is with aspects of dance, sublime guitar riffs, folk roots sentiments and breakbeat bass styles – whilst bringing the party to every club, dancehall and field they’ve shown up at. Always blowing audiences away and steadily earning for themselves the best possible reputation as a live act in the process.

Music Festival in Dewars Conformance Center, Glovers Street, Perth
Vamos! 2018
Friday May 04 2018 to Sunday May 06 2018 | Start Time Approximately 17:00
Vamos! 2018 VAMOS! returns… This new event was added to Perthshire’s music calendar in May 2017 and is back for 2018!

The event is the arrival of a new type of music weekend with the travel and music industries joining forces to bring a live American Style music extravaganza featuring artistes from the UK, Europe and the USA.

Rock and roll, country, blues and soul, rockabilly, tribute artistes and more will be performing at Vamos! which next year is being held at Dewars Centre in Perth on the Bank Holiday Weekend 4th – 6th of May 2018. Although moving to a large indoor venue for next year – VAMOS will still feature multiple stages and host around 40 acts over the weekend.

2017 saw the likes of PJ Proby, Los Pacaminos featuring Paul Young, Johnny Lee Memphis as Elvis Presley, Eve Graham of the New Seekers, Marmalade, The Pacemakers and around 40 other GREAT acts appearing in Perth, and 2018 is set to do the same!

Laughingly nicknamed “Glastonbury for Geriatrics” the organisers are keen to promote travel to North America – as the States are famed the world over for their music and VAMOS brings a taste of that to the UK.

The weekend kicks off on the 4th with a party night featuring music from the 1950s-1980s. There will be dancing and jiving to hits made famous by the likes of Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and country hits from artistes such as Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash and George Jones.

Saturday and Sunday includes a full programme of live American Style music with top artistes performing throughout the day and night.

Prices are £209 for three nights bed and breakfast in a Perth hotel, & weekend pass, £75 for an Early Bird weekend pass, £25 for an Early Bird Friday ticket and £35 for Early Bird Saturday and Sunday tickets.
