Nicolas Meier UK-based guitarist Nicolas Meier has carved a reputation out as one of the world’s most original and uniquely talented guitarists. Drawing from a love of Turkish, Eastern and Middle Eastern music, Flamenco, Tango and more – all mixed with jazz – Meier’s versatility and musical fluency extends well beyond that, even, so much so, that his considerable talents drew the attention of rock guitar legend, Jeff Beck, who made Nicolas a mainstay in The Jeff Beck Group – carrying him on two world tours during the course of the last several years.

Eric Ford As well as being part of world renowned jazz trio, Partikel, Eric is an in demand drummer and percussionist playing with several artists in recent years, including Clare Teal, Pee Wee Ellis and Jason Rebello as well as many festivals across the globe.

Jakub Cywinski Born in Poland, based in London, Jakub studied double bass as a postgraduate at the Royal College of Music Jakub’s varied freelance career has taken him to India, Russia, Lebanon, Romania, France, Portugal …Jakub explores his interest in collaborating with contemporary composers and jazz musicians such as Ola Onabule , Partikel, Power of the Horns .

Marek Dorcik’s Spercasa

Slovakian born drummer Marek Dorcik is swiftly gaining a reputation as a sought after professional drummer on the international jazz scene, working with some of the UK’s leading jazz artists including Mike Walker, Alan Barnes, Stuart McCallum, Alice Zawadzki (as part of the Moss Project) and Matthew Halsall of Gogo Penguin and Gondwana Records.

Spercasa, (a Slovakian play on words with ‘Sperk’ meaning ‘jewel’ and ‘Percasa’ resembling the word ‘percussion’) consists of Marek Dorcik on drums, George Crowley on sax, Miguel Gorodi on trumpet and flugelhorn, Tom Hewson on piano and Mick Coady on double bass. Together they are an outstanding quintet of prominent musicians, each with their own individual contributions to the UK jazz landscape. The synergy between them is apparent on About Time, with each protagonist allowing the other to express themselves freely through improvisation, creating space at exactly the right time, while showcasing each individual’s creative flair when it matters most.
