The Cribs release final single ‘Never The Same’ from their forthcoming studio album Selling A Vibe. Listen loud.

This could be the most lyrically cohesive record to date—an album marking their first full-length release in five years. Demonstrating bonds formed between family members through both songwriting and delivery, it’s primarily about reconnection, returning to a sense of brothers before bandmates.

‘Never The Same’ (out now) is the final track to be released from The Cribs forthcoming album ‘Selling A Vibe’, out Friday Jan 9. It precedes a run of instore and outstore shows starting this Thursday across the UK, with a full headline tour beginning March 18.

Their recently shared single deservedly received an instant and passionate response from fans, landing a place on BBC 6 Music’s A-List. And it’s one we’re also intending to keep at the top of our most played list for the foreseeable. An exuberant powerhouse of a track, familiar yet fresh, their classic Indie sharpness and wit ringing out, with the faintest nod to punk not-so-sensibilities along with. Nestled in perfectly among a bucket load of spirit following the summer’s previous single releases, take notice.

Of ‘Never The Same’, guitarist and singer Ryan Jarman says:

“...it is kind of a throwback to our original approach: trim all the fat, bring it in as short as possible, and keep out of the way…streamlined. Stylish. It’s almost a little paradoxical, as lyrically it’s about feeling like a different person at this point in life, and missing the chaos of your previous existence, even if it wouldn’t make sense anymore.”

Authenticity and a burning desire for quality over quantity led to their 5-year hiatus, with an inclination towards releases only when material is noteworthy and prolific means the future for this band includes slower writing, communication & relationship building, and process-led explorative creation. A bold move in a fast-paced industry, but one that will do nothing but serve them well.
